Late December and early January are always a time for reflecting on the past year and thinking of the one ahead.

2019 was full of joys for our family - new home, new experiences, new babies to cuddle, and many wonderful moments together. It also saw sorrow in the loss of family members.

At dinner on New Year’s Eve we talk about what we are looking forward to in the new year. We all had different things on our minds - sailing, sitting by the pool, travelling to a new place - but they all shared a common theme - being together as a family.

Now the year has turned and I’m spending the day in my studio putting the last touches on a new shawl pattern - Penumbra - and finalizing my business plans for the year.

But truthfully, I’ve spent most of my morning gazing out the window dreaming on walking on the beach with my family - dogs included.
